Description
What do you when you’ve got a bucket load of plums 😅
While we only had a couple plums on our plum tree this year (3 🙈 as we only just planted it), my parents had bucket loads on theirs. We don’t really do jam in our house, so I put my thinking cap on make sure I made use of all the delicious fruit!
Mum and Dad had an apple orchard, soI often used to stew the apples and make healthy apple crumbles. So I decided to make a ‘plum crumble’.
Verdict: A success! 👏🏼
Ingredients
I just stewed the fruit with some water and cinnamon. Then made a topping –
Topping
- ½ cup almond meal
- 1/2 cup coconut flakes
- 2 tbsp hemp seeds
- 1 tbsp sunflower seeds
- 1 tbsp flaxseeds
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- 2-3 tbsp spoons of melted coconut oil (or enough to bind the mixture)
- 2-3 tbsp of honey melted
I always guess my amounts, so just use your own judgement…
Directions
- Place stewed plums (or apples also work brilliantly) into baking dish
- Layer with crumble
- Bake in oven at 180 degrees until Golden
Notes
I was chatting with a friend the other day and it reminded me to get my gummies back up! So, I used some of the stewed plum with gelatine to make some tummy friendly gummies for Henry (A perfect lollie – which we don’t do in our house) for kiddies with the healing health benefits of gelatine.
Super easy to make.
